While the Twilight period may be over, Netflix continues to show people that vampires can be cool even if it isn’t. Day Shift’s new trailer has been released by the streaming service. Jamie Foxx stars in this action-comedy as a vampire hunter who simply wants a stable paycheck. Action-packed scenes of a vampire being killed by Foxx’s character are seen in the trailer, which begins with Foxx’s character transitioning from pool cleaner to vampire hunter.
As Foxx explains what they’re up to, the audience sees a peek at Dave Franco’s persona. As the clip progresses, it becomes clear that Foxx isn’t just out there hunting vampires for fun; he also needs the money to support his family. However, he is unable to accomplish it on his alone, so he seeks help from Snoop Dogg, a fellow vampire hunter. Other vampire-hunting sequences are featured throughout the teaser, interspersed with comedic segments starring Franco and Foxx.
According to the teaser, audiences should expect a high-octane, gory film. It Shows viewers what they might anticipate, and also how many ways a vampire can be killed. The excerpts also have moments of hilarity, as Foxx’s character tries to get money for his wife and child. A movie from “the people who taught John Wick how to kick ass,” as the opening title cards proclaim, is promised in the trailer.

James Franco and Snoop Dogg are among the cast members of Day Shift. Meagan Good, Oliver Masucci, Steve Howey and Scott Adkins also appear. Zion Broadnax and C.S. Lee also appear in the film. The film marks the directorial debut of J.J. Perry, well known for his work as a stunt coordinator. Newcomer Tyler Tice and John Wick: Chapter 3’s Shay Hatten wrote the script. Yvette Yates, Jason Spitz, and Chad Stahelski are among the film’s producers.
On August 12, Netflix will release Day Shift.
