He discovered acting after being convicted and pursued a career on the screen, which resulted in him portraying gangsters in numerous films, including Bullets Over Broadway; Mob Queen; Love and Money; Defiance; Mickey Blue Eyes; Defiance; Gotti; The One-Man Jury; The Search for One-Eye Jimmy; Hello Again; and Wonder Wheel.
In addition to his leading performances, the actor had notable supporting appearances in a number of films, including Goodfellas, Mighty Aphrodite, Cop Land, and Innocent Blood, all of which were enjoyable to watch despite their brief durations.
