“Fixed,” the upcoming R-rated animated film by Genndy Tartakovsky: Release Date, Synopsis & more

Ahead of the forthcoming second season of Primal, famed animator, Genndy Tartakovsky has revealed via Entertainment Weekly that he has finally started production on his next feature film, Fixed. The picture will be rated R, a rarity for an animated film, according to the folklore of the medium. “In the rated-R 2D cartoon movie “Fixed,” a dog learns he will be neutered in the morning, and what does he do for the following 24 hours? Since then, I’ve tried to sell that one. It’s going to look great and have a heart, but it also has a lot of tremendous raunch in it. I’ve never come across anything quite like that, to my knowledge “Tartakovsky stated to Entertainment Weekly.

In the hands of an award-winning director, with an original and amusing storyline, Fixed might be an enjoyable animated picture for older viewers. As with the R-rated computer-animated feature Sausage Party, which made full use of the R rating’s severe and horrific comedy, the picture will be produced by Sony Pictures Animation. The majority of Tartakovsky’s work in animation has been aimed toward children, including the Hotel Transylvania series, Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and the Star Wars: Clone Wars micro-series. Samurai Jack, which debuted on Adult Swim last season, and Primal, which debuted on the same network this year, we’re both from the same creator.

Tartakovsky is also working on Sony Pictures Animation’s Black Knight, which will be rated PG-13. The Simpsons Movie, Shane Acker’s 9, Robert Zemeckis’ Beowulf, and Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs are just a few famous instances of PG-13-rated feature films, despite the fact that adult-oriented animation is still popular on television. Anomalisa and Sausage Party South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut are prominent R-rated animated theatrical releases.

It is possible that adult animated films could soon find a place in movie theatres thanks to the efforts of Tartakovsky. For now, fans of Tartakovsky may look forward to the arrival of Primal Season 2, which recently debuted its second teaser, featuring exciting prehistoric action that recalls Tartakovsky’s prior work, such as Samurai Jack. San Diego Comic-Con, which takes place later this month, will provide further information about the upcoming season. The publication date for Tartakovsky’s Fixed is still up in the air. The second season of Primal will premiere on Adult Swim on July 22.
