The monthly shonen manga Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, created by Masashi Kishimoto and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto, will return in June 2022 with a new chapter. Amado, the enigmatic former Kara scientist, and Code and Daemon’s action-packed fight in Chapter 71, dubbed Hindrance, has left fans wondering what’s next for the shinobi of Konoha and the terrible monsters they’re facing.
When is the next chapter of Boruto coming out?
Expect no new chapter this month, since the Boruto manga series is taking a break in July 2022. It’s currently estimated that Saturday, August 20th will bring the publication of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 72
On Saturday at 12:01 a.m. JST, Chapter 72 will be released.
The English translations of Chapter 72 should be available online at the following times, but they may be available sooner if the release time listed above is correct.

When Amado and Eida return to Konoha, what will happen in the village?
After Eida calls Daemon to stop Code from murdering Amado in the previous episode of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Amado was able to survive Code’s many efforts to kill him. Amado had told Eida that Kawaki was his secret weapon, so she chose to use it. Kawaki’s unique emergency shutdown command code was planted by Amado, and only he knows how to utilise it, he said. It is Konoha’s responsibility to handle Kawaki, yet this affects other villages, thus they have no option but to rely on him. Amado stated this.
Amado claims that the shutdown function is only a form of insurance to maintain his reputation in the area. However, he has a different goal in mind, and he needs Kawaki’s karma to achieve it. He stated he would talk, but it would be a long narrative, and he would have to inform Konoha as well, as Eida threatened him with spilling the beans. Upon reaching their destination, Amado inquired with Eida about her willingness to wait. This might support the idea that Amado is a villain after all. There are currently no big spoilers for Boruto Chapter 72, but we will update this page as soon as previews are available.
