The third season of Virgin River premiered on Netflix on July 9, 2021, just eight months after the release of the second season. There was a lot of conflict between Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) this season, but there was also a lot of new and old love blossoming between the characters. It was Brie (Zibby Allen) and Brady’s torrid relationship with Jack that we learned about (Benjamin Hollingsworth). Aside from romance, kidnappings, accidents, and death were some of the series’ other main plot points in season three.
Our hearts were in our throats as Mel revealed her pregnancy to Jack in the Season 3 finale, as he prepared to propose to her. Her journey to Los Angeles earlier in the season was not just for a vacation, but also to have her late husband’s sperm implanted into her uterus. Is it her husband who is the father of her baby? Hopefully, we’ll find out in Season 4! Season 4 has yet to receive an official teaser, but if you’re curious about what happened at the end of Season 3, you can watch the iconic last sequence from last season above. Mel tells Jack she’s pregnant but doesn’t know who the father is in the footage, which pushes Jack to propose.
When Can We Expect the Release Date for Virgin River Season 4?
As it stands, we don’t know when Netflix’s next season will be released. After wrapping up production in December of 2021, we can only hope that Season 4 will be released in the summer of 2022. The conclusion of filming in December 2020 indicated a release date of July 2021 if the Season 3 timetable is any indicator. Season 4 is expected to premiere in July of this year, although we wouldn’t rule out an early release date!
What Characters Are Returning in Season 4 of Virgin River?
Season 4 will feature the return of the main group of Virgin River residents. With Jack (Henderson), Mel Breckenridge, Doc (Tim Matheson), “Preacher” Colin Lawrence, Connie Cavendish, and Muriel Muriel (Nicola Cavendish) are the other characters (Teryl Rothery). In Season 3, we all missed Hope’s (Annette O’Toole) wit and sarcasm. Just a handful of times through Zoom and a quick phone call, we were able to get a glimpse of her. O’Toole was unable to attend because to travel limitations imposed by COVID-19.
Fortunately, Hope will be back in person for Season 4! After a brief hiatus, O’Toole tweeted this message on December 3 to announce her return: This is the final day of filming for the fourth season of #virginriver. They are a superb group of people to deal with. All day long, they wear masks; sometimes for more than 12 hours. I can’t say enough excellent things about their commitment and generosity. My heartfelt appreciation goes out to them.
After realising that Lilly (Lynda Boyd) had terminal cancer, we were handed a horrible blow. Even when she is gone, she will not be forgotten by her friends or her two children, Tara, who was her best friend, and Chloe, who was her only child. Tara and Chloe had no idea how they were going to pay for the upkeep of their mother’s property, but a secret trust had been put up for them. As a result, they may be permitted to remain in the Virgin River.
Season 4 of Virgin River will feature some new faces and additions to the cast
Mark Ghanimé and Kai Bradbury will join the cast of Virgin River in Season 4 as new cast members. Dr Cameron Hayek, a new doctor at the clinic, will be played by Ghanimé. Doc is diagnosed with wet age-related macular degeneration. It is a condition that can lead to total blindness. We don’t know whether or not he will replace Doc. Bradbury has been cast in the role of Doc’s great-grandson. In Season 3, he checked into Fitches’ Bed & Breakfast and informed Jo Ellen (Gwynyth Walsh) that he was looking for his grandpa, Dr Vernon Mullins and that he’d want to see him.
Virgin River Season 4 Plot Spoilers
A tumultuous time lies ahead for Jack as he attempts to balance his growing family, including his wife Charmaine (Lauren Hammersly), and a new baby Mel has just informed him about — presuming, of course, that it is his. Even a split up between the two major characters may be inevitable if the kid is Mel’s late husband Mark (Daniel Gillies). Additionally, a lady who we can only presume is working for Vince abducted and drugged Preacher in Season 3. (Steve Bacic). Preacher and Paige (Lexa Doig) should be able to return to the Virgin River without having to continually monitor their surroundings.
This casual romance may soon develop into a full-fledged one after Brady declared his love for Brie publicly. We want Brie to be happy after everything she’s been through, but we know that a relationship with Brady will put a strain on her and Jack’s relationship. We’re also concerned about Hope’s well-being, given the grim circumstances surrounding her car accident on the way back to the Virgin River. Doc is reeling under the weight of the news, and he’s already dealing with the devastation of his own diagnosis. Among other things, we’d like to know the identity of Jack’s shooter in Season 4.
After the fourth season, will Virgin River be renewed for further episodes?
Yes! In September of 2021, Virgin River was given a two-season extension for a possible fifth and sixth season. The fifth season is currently under development, therefore might this suggest that the fourth season will end on a cliffhanger like the previous season? That’s a question we’ll have to wait for an answer to. Season 5’s release date is also a mystery, given that production was originally slated to begin in March 2022 but has since been postponed. As soon as the debut dates for all forthcoming seasons are revealed, we’ll let you know here on the site.
