According to Deadline, Fox is producing Malcolm Spellman and Eric Haywood’s one-hour drama Billionaire Class. The team behind Fox’s Empire, starring Taraji P. Henson, is working together once again on this project. This new show follows the lives of the super-wealthy, and it seems to make a point about the disparity between the affluent and the rest of us. High-stakes wish-fulfilment drama is how the series is defined by Haywood. The story revolves around Jo, a disillusioned executive assistant to a billionaire who decides to educate street hustler Mike on how to swindle the affluent and famous.
In addition, the series will depict a wide range of issues related to money, racism, and equality in the United States. Nichelle Tramble Spellman will serve as executive producer together with Eli Dansky for The 51. Additionally, Trevor Engelson’s Underground, his longtime colleague Douglas Banker for Five All in the Fifth, and filmmaker Maurice “Mo” Marable will serve as executive producers on the film (Woke). The series will be co-produced by Ray Smith. Before joining Bel-Air as an executive producer, Spellman had previously served as executive producer/head writer for Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, which stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan.
He is also the executive producer of Amazon’s Twin Territories, a new Bass Reeves series that follows the nation’s first Black Deputy Marshal. A joint venture between Revelations Entertainment and Morgan Freeman’s production firm, Lori McCreary’s producing company, and Amazon is behind the project. Chris Meloni, Danielle MonĂ© Truitt, Ainsley Seiger, Dylan McDermott, and Nona Parker Johnson all star in Law & Order: OC.
Haywood acts as a co-executive producer. There will be a 3rd season, which will air in the autumn, of the show. In the past, he co-executive produced For Life and Power and Manifest, among others. As an executive producer and showrunner for Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told (starring Octavia Spencer, Aaron Paul, Kate Hudson and Lizzy Caplan), Nichelle Tramble Spellman has worked with a diverse group of talent. Billionaire Class has no more information available at this time. While you’re here, check out the series summary.
Described as a high-stakes wish-fulfilment drama by Haywood, Billionaire Class explores the intersection of money, racism, and equity in America. A clever but disillusioned billionaire’s executive assistant, Jo educates a charming street hustler named Miles on how to walk, talk, and act like a millionaire in order to trick her employer’s rich friends into giving their money away to the less fortunate in order to help them.
