Filming for the highly anticipated 2nd season of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Loki has begun, starring Tom Hiddleston. Recent images that were taken on location in London have been making their way around social media, giving fans their first look at Tom Hiddleston’s comeback appearance. Although the creators haven’t divulged a lot of information regarding season 2, the photographs have dropped hints that the story may have some connection to Marvel’s Eternals.
The images show Loki filming on location in London’s various neighbourhoods. While he is flanked by TVA agents, he can be seen dressed formally in a suit. Owen Wilson, who was seen portraying a TVA agent but ultimately opted to aid Loki by the time the first season came to a close, is another character that wears a tuxedo. While this was going on, additional photographs provided hints that the shoot was taking place near to the Noel Theatre in London. Posters can be seen lined up along the walls, and one of them portrays the actor Kumail Nanjiani in his role as Kingo.
In Eternals, Kingo the Celestial had presented himself as a famous figure from the Indian film industry. It was a poster for the film Saraush Ke Putra, which was purportedly also featured in Eternals. The poster was found on the set of Loki 2. It has been reported that the movie takes place in the 1950s, and it is possible that the programme would have Owen and Loki travelling through time in order to discover a way to prevent TVA’s demise. For those who aren’t familiar, the first season of Avengers: Endgame depicted Loki making his getaway with the Tesseract and activating a nexus point.
It is because of this that he is taken into custody by the Time Variance Authority (TVA), an organisation whose mission is to safeguard the sacred timeline’ and stop ‘variants’ from disrupting the space-time continuum. At the end of the first season, Loki and a female version of himself were shown destroying the TVA as well as the “holy timeline.” Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino both play important parts in the drama that they star in. The second season of Loki is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar sometime in the middle of 2023.
