A trailer for Netflix’s Korean action flick Carter has been published. One of the most exciting teasers yet, the new one is full of action-packed sequences that are sure to get the heart racing. Two months into a terrible virus that has already destroyed the United States and Korea, the film will follow the titular agent. North and South Korea’s demilitarized zones have been infected by the virus that is wreaking havoc. Upon awakening, Carter has no memory of his identity until he hears a voice say, “Your name is Carter.”
Viewers saw Carter surrounded by armed agents after he inquired about the identity of the voice speaking. We’ll blow it up in 20 seconds, says the terrifying threat that follows. Afterwards, Carter is spotted rushing through the streets as he inquires about the CIA’s interest in him. When he asks this, he’s told, “There’s a ten-meter-wide explosive in your mouth.” “If you don’t work with us, it will activate,” the voice continues. Carter is confronted by a guy who says, “the things they’ve to lead you to believe.” The teaser ends with brutal action sequences and car and bike pursuit scenes before we see Carter on his knees and the voice in his head saying “Trust me. If you want to survive.”
According to Variety, the film is a one-scene, one-cut action flick starring Joo Won. Lee Sung-jae, Jeong So-ri, and Kim Bo-min will also appear in the film. Jung Byung-gil is the film’s director. A lot of work is put into Korean content by Netflix over the last several years, and it has shown to be a big success both domestically and globally. Squid Game, released last year, and the Korean adaptation of Money Heist, released recently, both demonstrate this success.
In the second part of the year, Carter is the streaming platform’s first Korean-language film. The official plot summary for the film is as follows:
A woman’s voice from a gadget implanted in Carter’s ears is the first thing he notices when he wakes up without his memories (Joo Won). During the CIA, North Korean Coup, and a group of infected people, he begins to obey her directions.
On August 5, Netflix will begin streaming Carter.
