Filming on Rob Zombie’s The Munsters has come to an end, and the doors of 1313 Mockingbird Lane are closing. During the filming process, the director took to Instagram to offer some behind-the-scenes images. Dan Roebuck’s Grandpa Munster, dressed in full costume and standing with Zombie, can be seen in the first shot. Lily Munster is portrayed by Sheri Moon Zombie in a cosy get-up, while the following image focuses on Herman, her funny on-screen spouse (Jeff Daniel Phillips). Additionally, the image shows how the family patriarch’s brilliant green complexion shines as a significant attention-grabber in Zombie’s translation of the black and white sitcom.
1313 Mockingbird Lane is the final stop in the photo series, which depicts a family-friendly monster’s home. The gothic, ivy-covered mansion appears gloomy and depressing, a stark contrast to the savage beasts who call it home. Over the past three months, Zombie has been filming in Budapest, and he thanked the country in the description of his Instagram image. However, he has been quite open about casting announcements and other facts about the PG version of his picture. The film’s first teaser, which was a shot-for-shot replica of the original show’s opening credits, was recently shown to fans.
The teaser begins in black and white, and then transitions to full colour, showing the characters in all their beauty. Two important things remain unresolved after the announcement of the wrap. Zombie has been quite forthcoming regarding the actors playing the roles of Eddie and Marilyn, although Eddie and Marilyn have yet to be cast. Original cast members Pat Priest and Butch Patrick have both been cast in the film; Patrick’s part has been disclosed, but the identity of Priest’s character has remained a mystery.
It’s possible that Priest is portraying an older Marilyn, but it’s not apparent whether that’s the case. In addition, the identity of the actor who will take on the role of Eddie will remain a mystery. The filmmaker has brought back innumerable characters, including the one-episode wonder Zombo, but it would be strange if Eddie didn’t make an appearance in the full film because Zombie is making his own take. Just one more question remains: when will the film be released? The release date for The Munsters is currently scheduled for 2022. A zombie may be planning to unveil the project around Halloween in order to line with the season’s theme, but you never know with this guy. Stay tuned to Collider for the answers to these and other burning questions as the film wrap up post-production. Below, you can see Zombie’s post.
