Discovery+ will be airing Kesha’s paranormal, ghost-hunting reality programme and we can hardly wait. Viewers can follow Grammy-nominated singer Kesha as she investigates a case of the unknown with the help of a new celebrity guest star on each episode of Conjuring Kesha. As for why the “Your Love Is My Drug” singer is getting her own supernatural investigative programme, we implore you not to dwell on the matter too much and to simply take in the show as it unfolds in front of you. Those who follow Kesha carefully (known collectively as Kesha’s “Animals”) would recognise the singer as more of a personality than anything else.
While many may just know her for her popular songs or her legendary court fight with her ex-producer, Dr Luke. The Simple Life was, after all, Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton’s programme of choice. Kesha and the Creepies, her creepy supernatural podcast, lends her even more authority as showrunner for a paranormal series. On Friday, July 8th, Conjuring Kesha will make its streaming premiere on the site. Kesha will be forced to confront her preconceived notions about the world around her as she searches for answers to the universe’s strange riddles. With the announcement of the date came a clip showing Kesha in an all-black ensemble chatting to the camera directly about how “the supernatural comes easily” for her.
The series’ motto, “Let’s go!” is a nod to her breakthrough single, “TiK ToK,” which was released in 2009. Kesha’s “eternal yearning for something more” and “insatiable curiosity” are at the root of her paranormal preoccupation, she claims in a statement accompanying the clip. She goes on to claim that this quest has served as a muse for her music and art, providing her with the motivation she needs. Whitney Cummings, Jojo Fletcher, Betty Who, GaTa, Karen Elson and Big Freedia will all be performing for Kesha fans who are ready to take the risk. Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary and Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum are among the eerie locations that the pop singer will visit with these big people along for the ride.
Paranormal specialists including Cindy Kaze (The Holzer Files) and Chip Coffey will accompany the adventures to assist them to communicate with the ghosts of the dead (Paranormal State). Kesha’s path of self-discovery and self-acceptance is set to feature prominently in her next series. We can’t wait to watch what entertaining and thought-provoking discussions the pop sensation will have with her famous guests about the invisible world that surrounds us. Conjuring Kesha premieres July 8 on Discovery+, so check out the teaser below and be ready to enter the abyss.
