Including their 2022 SDCC agenda, AMC has announced panels for Tales of the Walking Dead, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, and Shudder’s Queer for Fear, among others. Additionally, AMC is crafting the ultimate The Walking Dead fan experience to commemorate the iconic series’ last season, which premieres this fall. A new anthology series on the popular zombie property based on Chris Hardwick’s (Talking Dead) The Walking Dead Universe will be premiered on Friday, July 22 by Tales of the Walking Dead cast and crew.
As AMC extends the live-action universe based on Robert Kirkman’s comic books, Tales of the Walking Dead will feature six one-hour standalone episodes, each focusing on a different character. On Friday, Hardwick will host a panel discussion with the original cast and crew of The Walking Dead to discuss the show’s last season. There will also be a sneak glimpse at the dramatic ending that AMC has been building up for us, as shown in the previous season’s teaser, which will be unveiled during the panel discussion. AMC is also renovating the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Hotel’s Skylight Terrace and Gaslamp Ballroom into the ultimate The Walking Dead fan experience, in addition to the panel.
As a tribute to the extraordinary ensemble of characters who have sustained the series for more than a decade, viewers will be able to relive some of the series’ most famous moments through this immersive experience. Not only will zombies hit Comic-Con this year, but AMC will also be hosting a special panel for Shudder’s documentary series, Queer for Fear, on Friday. A panel at the San Diego Comic-Con called Queer for Fear will provide an inside look at how the LGBTQ+ community has affected horror for decades in the upcoming Shudder limited series, which will premiere later this year.
Interview with the Vampire, the television series adaptation of Anne Rice’s iconic novel, will have a panel discussion on AMC on Saturday, July 23. It will be a chance for the cast and crew of the new adaptation of Rice’s novel to meet and talk about what fans can anticipate from the film. In addition, the first teaser for the programme will be shown at Comic-Con, making AMC’s panel an absolute must-attend event.
Between Thursday, July 21 and Sunday, July 24, 2022, SDCC will be held in San Diego. All of AMC’s panels at SDCC are listed here, along with the times and locations for each.
