‘Sprung’ Trailer, Ex-Prisoners Put Their Criminal Skills to Use for the Benefit of Others, & everything you need to know

Freevee has published the first trailer for Greg Garcia’s new comedy series Sprung, a follow-up to My Name is Earl and Raising Hope. People who have served time in prison get together to use their criminal talents for good in this drama series. Jack (Garret Dillahunt) & Rooster (Phillip Garcia) are two non-violent offenders whose early release from jail comes as a surprise to us all in the trailer. The government decided to reduce their sentences and allow them to return to their families because of pandemic worries.

Since the two men no longer have a place to call their own, they must turn to Rooster’s mother, Barb, for assistance (Martha Plimpton). Another ex-prisoner who’s searching for lodging gets picked up by Bard on the route to his temporary residence. After 26 years in prison, Jack is relieved to be released, but he quickly learns that Barb wants him to join her gang of robbers so that he may make good on his debt to the house.

While at first reluctant to join this new gang, Jack eventually agrees to participate in future thefts if their targets are only criminals.” As a result, the four of them will work together to rob the neighbourhood’s most snobbish residents while forging a new family in the process.
Also in the first season cast were Night School’s James Earl (Melvin) and Clare Gillies (Wiggles). Paula Tackleberry, Congresswoman Paula Tackleberry, Camden Garcia, My Name is Earl, Andre Jamal Kinney, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Mike Rob, Fred Grandy, Steven Ogg, Susan Ruttan, and David Wells are some of the guest stars on this season of Grey’s Anatomy (Shameless).

Garcia not only created but also directed every episode of the first season of Sprung. Along with Garret Dillahunt and Michael Rotenberg, Garcia serves as Sprung’s Executive Producer in conjunction with 3 Arts. In addition to Tim Stack, Michael Pennie and Bobby Bowman, Gina Gari is a co-producer. The first two episodes of Sprung will be broadcast exclusively on Amazon Freevee on August 19. Up until the one-hour finale airs on September 16th, fresh episodes will be released regularly on the streaming site.

Sprung’s official plot summary is as follows:
Sprung follows Jack (Garret Dillahunt), who is unexpectedly released from prison due to the pandemic and joins forces with an unlikely group of formerly incarcerated individuals to use their criminal expertise for good. Greg Garcia (Raising Hope, My Name Is Earl) is the acclaimed comedy creator behind Sprung.
