Carl Weathers, the actor and director of The Mandalorian, has stated that the third season will be even more action-packed in an interview with Empire Magazine. As one of the show’s directors, Weathers previously helmed “Chapter 12: The Siege” from Season 2, which received high praise from critics. According to Weathers, “Oh there was a bit more [action], I guess, in this one.” “Chapter 12: The Siege’s” director and actor also said that his next project would have a more nuanced storyline and scope than that of “Chapter 12.” Weathers went on to say: However, despite being separate episodes, it’s neither a whodunit, dark comedy, or procedural; rather, it’s a unique take on episodic television. It’s a kaleidoscope of genres, with action and adventure thrown in for good measure. When you’re a director, you have the opportunity to show off your abilities in a variety of areas,” he remarked.
Besides directing the show, he also appears as Greef Karga, the chief of the Bounty Hunters Guild, who initially appeared in Season 1 of the series as an antagonist. In the wake of Weathers’ nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards, the character became an instant fan favourite. A more action-packed season is enough to keep Star Wars fans excited even though Weathers did not divulge any particular story information for Season 3. Season 3 is expected to showcase the further growth of two characters, Grogu and Mando, as Din Djarin tries to redeem himself in Mandalore following the events of the Book of Boba Fett.
With two seasons and 14 Primetime Emmy Awards, The Mandalorian is still one of the most popular shows on streaming. Other Star Wars live-action programmes, such as The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi, were produced thereafter. In the meanwhile, Star Wars fans may keep an eye on Andor and Ahsoka, two spinoffs based on characters that appeared in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, as they await Season 3 of The Mandalorian. While Taika Waititi is currently working on a new Star Wars movie for the big screen, the television series is still going strong.
The third season of The Mandalorian will launch on Disney+ in 2023, according to the network.
