As we bask in the additional sunshine of summer, we must not forget that October is just a few months away. Despite the fact that the days are growing shorter and colder, there is a lot to look forward to during the Halloween season. Even if you’re not into TV or movies, you know that the season brings with it an abundance of new shows and movies for you to binge-watch over the colder months. The CW has just announced the launch dates for a slew of eagerly awaited shows, including the first look at the spin-off series The Winchesters and Walker Independence. From 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31st, DC’s Stargirl returns for Season 3. Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger), a high school student who goes by the alias Stargirl, was the focus of the second season of the DC Universe-turned-CW series. Along with dealing with the normal stresses of adolescence, Courtney had to cope with the evil villain Eclipso (Nick Tarabay) and the much greater menace of summer school.
From 9:00 to 9:30 and again from 9:30 to 10:00, there will be two new episodes of Wellington Paranormal on the air, as well as an encore of the first episode of the third season of DC’s Stargirl. Family Law premieres on the CW on Sunday, October 2 at 8:00-9:00 p.m., kicking off the autumn season with new episodes of your favourite CW shows on a regular basis. Abigail Bianchi (Jewel Staite), a recovering alcoholic and attorney, is the focus of the show, which follows her as she tries to get her life back on track following the devastation of her addiction. She is forced to work in family law with her estranged father, Harry, which she considers to be horrible probation (Victor Garber).
After meeting her half-sister Lucy (Genelle Williams) and half-brother Daniel (Zach Smadu) for the first time in the show’s plot, Abigail will try to form a relationship with them. CW’s procedural crime drama, Coroner, will start its fourth season from 9:00-10:00 p.m., after Family Law.
8:00-9:00 p.m.: DC’s Stargirl, followed by Kung Fu’s third season premiere (9:00-10:00 p.m.). It’s time for the double header we’ve all waited for. On Thursday, October 6, 8:00-9:00 p.m. and 9:00-10:00 p.m. respectively, Jared Padalecki’s Texas Ranger, Walker, will be returning when both Walker and its brand-new prequel series, Walker: Independence, broadcast. The Winchesters will serve as a prologue to the 15-season Supernatural by telling the narrative of Mary (Meg Donnelly) and John (Drake Rodger), the matriarch and patriarch of the Winchester family, and the business that brought them together. Winchesters (8:00-9:00 PM) will be followed by the debut of Professionals (9:30-10:00 PM).
