Who Died in the Season 4 Finale of ‘Stranger Things’?

Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 2 has finally been here after weeks of speculation, debate, and even constructing ranked lists of which characters are most likely to die. Several characters in the novel meet their gory ends, while others suffer catastrophic injuries that set up key storylines for the next season. Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) is not one of them. Many fans’ worst nightmares came true, and the deaths of additional well-liked characters made the conclusion painful to see. The next paragraphs contain spoilers.

This episode ends with Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Steve, Robin (Maya Hawke), Eddie (Joseph Quinn), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Max (Sadie Sink), and Erica (Priah Ferguson) starting their plot to beat Vecna in “Piggyback,” the two and a half-hour season finale (Jamie Campbell Bower). With Dustin and Eddie acting as decoys in the Upside Down, Nancy, Steve, and Robin may search the Creel mansion for Vecna’s bodily remains while the demo bats are distracted. Lucas, Erica, and Max are in the Creel house diverting Vecna from his physical body by giving him another chance to enter Max’s head.

As soon as Max tries to entice him, she utilises good memories to hide from him. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is aware of her friends’ plot from across the nation, but she won’t be able to return to Hawkins in time to assist them. When Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), Will (Noah Schnapp), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and Argyle (Eduardo Franco) set her up in a homemade sensory deprivation tank, she may use her skills to mentally locate Max and then “piggyback” to Vecna’s mindscape and battle him there. Eddie Munson’s death in the finale and season as a whole was the most painful.

Since his debut appearance as the captain of Hawkins High’s D&D club, the Hellfire Club, Eddie has become a fan favourite. But it’s not just his beloved position among viewers that made his death so heartbreaking; it’s also the way he died. Steve advises Dustin and Eddie to hide as soon as they divert the bats, advising them to not attempt to be heroes and to escape to safety as quickly as they can. Then, alluding to Eddie and Dustin, he continues to comfort him: “Absolutely. I mean, look at us. Not everyone is a hero.” Steve, Robin, and Nancy are relieved and decide to go in search of Vecna. Using the upside-down version of his guitar, Eddie plays a crazy Metallica “Master of Puppets” guitar solo after he and Dustin have barricaded the trailer. Their plan is to divert the bats from the Creel house and then hide from them in a trailer, but the bats soon discover a way to sneak in via the ventilation.

Eddie and Dustin make their way to the portal to return to their home reality in order to escape. While Eddie hesitates to break the bedsheet rope that allows easy entry to the other world after Dustin crosses over, he cuts it nonetheless and dashes out of the trailer to further distract the demo bats from Nancy, Steve, and Robin so that they may finish their objective. With no rope, Dustin tries to return to the Upside Down, but when he eventually makes it there, he is confronted with the aftermath of a brutal fight between Eddie and the Demobats. Because of Eddie’s deed, Nancy, Robin, and Steve now have a far better chance of surviving and succeeding. Although Eddie was killed in the fight, he is still alive and well. But, in a sense, his story arc has come to an end.

Eddie’s supporters have adored him throughout the series because of his unashamed sense of self-worth despite the fact that his school and community are eager accomplices in his dehumanisation. But he’s also aware of his weaknesses, including the fact that he’s apprehensive about what’s going on around him. Chrissy’s death drove him to flee, and he’s embarrassed by it. Embarrassed by his own timidity in comparison to Nancy’s bravery, he goes after Steve because of her heroics in Episode 7, where she jumps into the sea after him to reach the Upside-Down gate. He has developed the courage he only had in D&D sessions with his pals at the beginning of the season when he faced the demo bats head-on.

Despite this, as a dungeon master, he urged them to flee rather than fight Vecna, given the odds against them. “Didn’t run away this time?” he asks Dustin as he dies in his arms following the terrible bat battle. Unlike Eddie, Max’s destiny is less clear-cut; yet, it would be incorrect to state she dies in the season finale. Eleven and Vecna are battling in Max’s head, but Vecna is gaining the upper hand, and from the outside world, Max is beginning to suffer the same change that we’ve seen in Vecna’s earlier victims..” In the sky, she soars. Her limbs begin to splinter. Her eyes are red and watery. Mike’s impassioned, soul-baring speech to Eleven in the sensory deprivation tank causes her to break away from Max. Max escapes his grasp and is caught in the arms of Lucas in the real world. Erica receives orders from Lucas to dial 911 for help. Max has gone blind; “Lucas, I’m afraid. I am terrified. She says, “I’m very nervous.” “Death is not something I desire. No, thank you.” But her remarks express the horror of dying in an unexpected way for a television series.

Lucas attempts to reassure her. Death occurs frequently in cinema and television, but we rarely experience an existential crisis about our own mortality or the harrowing experience of dying. When we see how horrified Max is, we can’t help but think about how terrified we would be if we found ourselves in Max’s shoes. However, Max is clinically dead. In the end, Eleven uses her powers to bring her back from the grave; nonetheless, she is determined not to lose her. At the episode’s conclusion, we find her unconscious in the hospital, with Lucas reading to her as she lies in a coma. If she wakes up at all, doctors aren’t sure when or if. There is only darkness when Eleven goes into Max’s thoughts. Steve, Nancy, and Robin are able to reach Vecna’s body in the Upside Down thanks to the sacrifices of Eddie and Max.

He falls from the window of the Creel home, engulfed in flames and pierced with gunshot wounds. Steve, Nancy, and Robin head outside to investigate whether he’s actually dead, and his body is nowhere to be seen. A fourth gate has opened in Hawkins since his scheme has worked despite Max’s death; yet, he may still be alive. Four enormous fissures in the soil are formed as a result of the construction of this gate, joining to form a vast chasm leading to the Upside Down. At least 22 people died in this earthquake, according to the local media. Several others are still missing. Among them is Chrissy’s partner, Jason (Mason Dye). Jason stops Lucas and Max while Vecna hypnotises Max earlier in the episode. He threatens Lucas with a revolver and demands that he awakens Max, who is fast asleep. Two lads get into a violent altercation. Jason is slain as one of the massive rifts opens out into the Upside Down, slicing through the centre of his body.
There are some happy endings in the season 4 finale of Stranger Things.

A successful recovery and return to America for the Hopper rescue team. In the end, Hopper (David Harbour) and Eleven (Jenn Proske) are reconciled. It’s not true that Max has died. For the time being, Vecna has been repulsed. At this point in “Piggyback,” though, Hawkins is in turmoil. Eleven can’t break the gravity of Max’s coma, even though she isn’t quite dead. Will knows Vecna isn’t dead now that he’s back in Hawkins, despite the fact that she’s seriously hurt. To top it all off, Upside Down now appears to be a part of our everyday lives. Particles from the Upside Down rain down on the heroes as they stand in their own world. Grass and flowers wither and die when they hit the ground after a rainstorm. Black storm clouds appear to be growing from the black smoke billowing from cracks in the earth as thunder rumbles in the distance, accompanied by red lightning crackling among them. Season 4 of Stranger Things close by making it obvious that the final struggle for Hawkins will not be seen until the fifth season.
