At this point in the One-Punch Man manga, anything may happen. It’s as if Saitama himself smacked you in the face. Please take a moment to read this disclaimer before we get started. Let’s find out more about Genos. He is Saitama’s devoted 19-year-old cyborg student. The young cyborg is driven by a need for justice and is always looking for ways to expand his power. Currently, Genos is an S-Class Rank 14 Hero Association member going by the alias Demon Cyborg. He is fiercely protective of Saitama, with whom he shares a particularly close affinity.
Saitama and Garou were finally going to face off in their long-awaited duel. This indestructible Garou was a complete surprise. Garou punching Saitama was an inconceivable sight for the fans. Saitama’s Consecutive Normal Punches are even possible for Garou. After using the Gamma-Ray Burst, he has now reached the cosmic level (surpassing Boros). The confrontation between Garou and the S-class heroes was also featured in Chapter 165. It also revealed Garou’s Cosmic Garou form.
Chapter 166 Spoilers
Garou’s nuclear strike has brought us to the end of the game. Garou’s new God Powers make him appear invincible as he nears Earth. His abilities have progressed to the point that even his mere presence is enough to put an end to the lives of others, especially the lesser ones.
Both Garou and Silver Fang were taken by surprise when Blast appeared in the middle of their talk. It’s clear from Blast’s expression that his sheer existence on the planet was jeopardising all life on it.
It is Blast’s final chance to get Garou back to where he belongs he tries to influence Garou’s mind. At this point, Garou boldly proclaims himself the “Symbol of Fear,” and we can clearly see the evil emanating from him. When Genos rushes in to try to take down Garou, he fails miserably. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Garou slams him and Saitama. Taking advantage of the situation, Blast and Garou engage in an epic combat scene (chef’s kiss). It’s then that the heart-wrenching scene occurs.
Is Genos no longer with us?
Garou reaches out to grab Genos and yanks his core out, murdering him on the spot, in order to unleash Saitama’s full potential. As a cyborg, we have no idea if he’s dead or if it’s possible to bring him back to life. Saitama is shown in the following scene, realising he was late. Genos reminisces on how Saitama always showed there on time and wonders whether he really has a Hero’s Intuition, in a short flashback. Saitama and Garou face off towards the end of the chapter in a fight that might lead to the destruction of the entire planet. Until then, we’ll just have to wait and hope for the best.
