The light novel written by Kugane Maruyama has been adapted into a popular anime series that airs in Japan. After producing three outstanding seasons of the anime adaptation, Madhouse has decided to continue the show for a fourth season. In May of 2021, the production company made the announcement that they would be producing the fourth season during a special broadcast from the cast.
The following is an excerpt from the official plot summary for Overlord: “When a popular MMORPG is scheduled to be shut down for good, veteran player Momonga refuses to log out.” As non-player characters (NPCs) start to take on their own identities and personalities, he makes the decision to put his skills to use and become the new overlord of the game. A brand new trailer for Overlord Season 4 was just released by Madhouse, and it features the incredible ending and opening theme songs that were composed and performed by OxT and Mayu Maeshima. Aside from that, the production company announced an air date for the first episode of the fourth season.
The most recent trailer for Overlord Season 4 provides us with a comprehensive look at each of the primary characters, which has amped up our excitement to watch the new episodes. The producers of the anime have stated that the first episode will be released on July 5th, 2022, marking the beginning of the series.
The premiere of the new season of Overlord will take place a little under a month from now. At the time that they announced Season 4, the creators of Overlord only released a key visual for the new season. At the same time, they also confirmed that an anime movie would be made based on the series. The “Holy Kingdom Arc” from the light novel will serve as the inspiration for the movie, which is also slated for release in 2022. After that, earlier this year, Madhouse released the first trailer for the anime, announcing that it would return to our screens in July of 2022.
After what felt like an interminable amount of time, the premiere date of the new season has at long last been determined. Since there was always a total of 13 episodes in each season of Overlord, we can safely assume that there will be the same amount of episodes in the upcoming season even though the official episode count for Season 4 has not yet been released.
