Kashimo begins to understand Hakari’s cursed technique in Chapter 187. As long as Hakari doesn’t win the jackpot, his cursed energy is harmless, but once he does, it becomes infinite. Hakari’s invincibility lasts for 4 minutes and 11 seconds after he hits the jackpot, after which he loses his powers. With his ‘non-invincible’ time span, he increases his chances of winning while staying safe from harm, and the cycle continues as he quickly wins another jackpot.
To him, gambling responsibly is disrespectful to the game, so he simply blames his bad luck for everything. As a result of this, Kashimo believes that waiting until Hakari’s 4-minute 11-second time limit expires is cowardly. He swears to kill Hakari no matter what the circumstances. In the following panels, we see a flashback to the bloody days of Jujutsu when Kashimo was linked to Kenjaku. In his final moments, Kashimo asked Kejaku about the all-time strongest sorcerer. Ryomen Sukuna lived hundreds of years ago, and Kenjaku gave Kashimo a way back in time just to fight him.

The showdown between Kinji Hakari and Hajime Kashimo will continue in Chapter 188. Despite Hakari’s current advantage, the situation could change at any time. As the strongest sorcerer of his time, Kashimo will not enter a battle without an alternative strategy in mind. I believe that the fight is far from over because of his unwavering resolve to take on Sukuna. Even the most fortunate of gamblers eventually run out of luck, and Hakari is no exception. Megumi, meanwhile, is unconscious and badly injured just a few kilometres away. To whom will he be saved? Okkotsu or Itadori will have to step in since Hakari is currently preoccupied with Kashimo.
