Since the publication of the last episode, Boruto fans have been on the edge of their seats. Kirigakure’s long-running struggle with the Funato Clan is finally coming to a close. Fans are eager to see what happens to Team 7 and their allies this week after last week’s cliffhanger. What’s going to happen between Boruto and Ikada? Are we really going to see our hero sacrifice everything in order to avert this conflict? Was this all planned by Kawaki? Before the airing of Boruto Episode 254, let’s go over what we know about it.
There are spoilers for Episode 253 and there is a chance that there will be spoilers for Episode 254.
Boruto 254 may mark the conclusion of Funato and the Mist’s battle
Finally, Boruto and Ikada’s dialogue was the centre of the last episode, entitled Conflicting Feelings. As our protagonist sought a peaceful resolution, he rekindled his relationship with Ikada in the process. After his sister Seiren was slain, Ikada became enraged and thirsty for vengeance. The Shinonome I and Kirigakure were on his mind, and he had no intention of listening to what his old buddy had to say. This made things much more difficult for his father Araumi, who said his son’s promises of retrenchment were false and that he was only attempting to fool the Funato.
Even still, Boruto remained steadfast in his desire for peace, attempting to persuade his comrade to give up his weapons. There would be no end to it until one side pardoned the other, he realised. When they thought they were doomed, Ikada came up with an outlandish proposal. He would willingly surrender if Team 7 brought him the Mizukage’s head. In the event that they failed, he planned to give his head as a sacrifice.
What can we expect?
One way or another, the conflict between the Funato and Kirigakure armies will come to a conclusion. Boruto is putting his life on the line to convince Ikada that retribution is not the answer. In contrast, the Funato are hardened, and they refuse to let go of the trauma they have endured. Since we know that Boruto will face Kawaki in the future, we can be sure that he will not suffer any serious injuries during this storyline. This, on the other hand, may serve as a wake-up call. However, Ikada doesn’t appear to be responding well to his peace-loving methods.
He may finally listen to his friend after he pledged his life in return for peace, but his father will still be a problem. In order to ensure that Kirigakure suffers, Araumi would even be prepared to kill his own children. Kawaki’s penetration of the Funato’s Mobile Fortress must also be taken into account. Because he disagrees with his brother, he feels that the matter cannot be settled quietly. Team 7 has Ikada’s attention while the Funato are fixated on the Chakra Cannon, thus Kawaki has the opportunity to instigate a violent fight by turning the tables on the peaceful discussions. Two episodes from the end of the arc and this dispute will be settled in a timely manner. Until the next episode is released, we won’t know how the Funato and Mist troops would deal with one other.
