Kashimo had a flashback scene in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 187, which surprised readers because it was expected that Hakari’s Domain Expansion would end in a Jackpot. While the main focus remained on the battle between Kashimo and Hakari in Idle Death Gamble, the highlight was the appearance of Kenjaku from 400 years ago. Despite the fact that Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 187 provided some insight into how Kenjaku met and recruited each of the reincarnated sorcerers, it made the layout of Hakari’s Domain even more complex.
Idle Death Gamble’s inner workings are once again left to the readers’ scavenging through obscure terms and fleeting details. In the previous chapter, Hakari defeated Kashimo by using his jackpot, which gave him 4 minutes and 11 seconds of unrestricted Cursed Energy.
He was able to cast his Domain immediately after the jackpot ended thanks to the Cursed Energy’s dual effects of healing his wounds and recharging his Cursed Technique. In addition, Kashimo’s sure-hit technique did not appear to work on Hakari at all. It’s called “Tokyo No. 2 Colony (Part 6)” in the Jujutsu Kaisen chapter. It has been revealed in the flashback that Kashimo is physically a man, so this article will refer to him as “he.”
Enhanced Chances
In Chapter 187 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Kashimo learns that because Hakari’s sure-hit technique is safe to use repeatedly, he can do so.
The “Increased Probability” feature is activated because he won the jackpot by drawing three odd numbers (the number 3). He can use a sequential drawing method, which has an increased chance of being an error. Hakari, on the other hand, is able to use such moves because he has an increased chance of winning a jackpot. A good example of this is the “Potty emergency” Riichi scenario, which ends up winning the jackpot despite the odds being against it. Due to a successful scenario, a triple draw of 6 results from Hakari and Kashimo’s fighting. When Hakari wins a jackpot, it’s an even-number draw, so he gets a bonus (of the number 6).
Even-numbered Riichi, on the other hand, guarantees an “Increased Probability” in the next round, but only for 4 minutes and 11 seconds. This is explained in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 187. In the next round, Hakari’s chances of winning the jackpot remain unchanged, putting him right back where he started. In the 4 minutes and 11 seconds, Hakari is immortal, and Kashimo realises that he has a good chance of defeating him. He understands that. Sorcerer Kashimo refuses to bow and vows to kill Hakari within this time frame to prove his abilities.
Chapter 187 of Jujutsu Kaisen cuts to a 400-year-old flashback. Walking across a bloody battlefield, Kenjaku’s then-avatar approaches an elderly man. In response to Kenjaku’s question, the man says that he didn’t enjoy defeating these people. To which Kenjaku responds, “I’m not in a condition to fight at this time.” He tells the old man about a sorcerer from the Michinoku Province with the most energy output, a veritable cannon (alternatively Mutsu, present-day Miyagi prefecture). He asks Kenjaku for the name of a sorcerer he knows who is the strongest he knows. However, he has been imprisoned for 600 years, so Kenjaku replies that it is Sukuna. Kashimo, a middle-aged man, turns around and reveals his identity. Because of his imminent death, he has agreed to Kenjaku’s plans in order to fight Sukuna after his resurrection. He is sick and likely to die soon.
Thoughts on the matter are done
After all, Hakari is already a Special Grade in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 187, making him one of the most powerful sorcerers ever seen in the manga. As we learn more about His Domain, it becomes clear that we only know a fraction of it. If Hakari has any other tricks up his sleeve, they may be used at the right moment. Kashimo appears to be adamant about taking on the strongest sorcerer in the world. It’s unclear how he met Kenjaku, but the fact that he calls the person “Kenjaku” rather than their actual name is intriguing.
That the ancient sorcerers knew who Kenjaku was when they signed the contract shows they weren’t duped into it at the time of signing the deal. Ryu Ishigori is unmistakably the man from Mutsu. Following on from the hints given at the end of Chapter 187, we may expect to see more of Kenjaku’s interactions with him and Uro moving forward.
