A new generation of console gaming is expected to arrive with the introduction of Sony’s PlayStation 5. Many users already swear by the PS5 system and its generational advancements in frame rate (fps), game quality (quality), load times (load times), and overall gameplay experience (gameplay). New controllers with haptic feedback and enhanced controls were also hailed as an enhancement over the previous generation of DualShock controllers for the PS5. How to switch off PS5 rest mode will be the subject of this post.
When the PS5 system is in rest mode, most of the system’s functionalities are disabled in order to save power. When the console controller is left idle for a short period of time, it disconnects from the system and saves battery life. Some operations, such as updates, may be hindered by this function when the system is idle, which is a nifty tool to have. Multiple gamers opt to disable the feature completely and prevent the machine from going into rest mode in order to minimise this risk.
Is there a way to shut off a PS5 in rest mode?
Multiple devices were essentially bricked when they entered rest mode while attempting to install critical software on this console. Rest mode has been known to cause USB ports to become deactivated, and controllers have been known to become unresponsive after the console has been put into rest mode. Currently, there are only two ways to turn off this mode. Those are the techniques;
By way of Settings
To disable rest mode through settings, follow the instructions below;
Go to SETTINGS
Navigate to POWER SAVING OPTIONS
Find REST MODE
Choose DO NOT PUT INTO REST MODE to effectively deactivate the function.
Via Pressing the Power Button
If you do not desire to go to settings, push and hold the power button down on the console. After a few seconds, you should hear two beeps. Once you hear the beeps, let go of the power button as the rest mode has been turned off. Unfortunately, there are no alternative means to turn off this option nor is it known why this mode is producing the concerns described. It is advised that you disable the rest mode if you desire to keep the console secure and away from any severe troubles until it is handled properly.
