My Hero Academia may be all about Izuku, but Shoto Todoroki is a close second in terms of leadership. The half-and-half Hero is a prominent character in the manga, and his origins have long been a topic of debate. Now, the manga is giving Shoto the chance to confront a portion of his past in person, and the book’s last act promises to allow the child to do something his grandpa never could. In the most latest chapter of My Hero Academia, the complete setup was revealed. Shoto confronts Dabi at the end of Chapter 349 after discovering that the villain was born Touya Todoroki. When Shoto was chastised for sparring with his older brother, he responded:
“You’ve got everything backwards,” says Efforts of Endeavor. I’m not here on anyone’s orders. “I’m standing here because I’ve made the decision to stop you,” he explained. “[Becoming Dad’s puppet] could just be true if I ignored you and kept trying to be a hero anyhow.” If there’s one thing we know about the Todoroki clan, it’s that Endeavor sent them into a spiral. The father assaulted his family, committed his wife, and terrorised his children as a result of his one-track mentality. It got to the point when Touya pretended to die and posed as a villain in order to avenge his father.
But, whether he realises it or not, Dabi is just as stubborn as his father, and their fiery emotions are two sides of the same coin. Because Endeavor has spent his entire life being “Endeavor” and has just recently begun to work on becoming more “Enji Todoroki.” When you think about it, physically injuring Dabi or his family would create no actual harm. Shoto, on the other hand, is not like his father or elder brother in any way.
The kid looks exactly like his mother, and it is because of this that he has such a caring heart. Shoto was motivated by his mother’s loving demeanour to become a hero who defends others, much like All Might, and this is what the child aspires to do for Dabi. What Dabi did as a villain can’t be undone or forgiven, but Shoto can put an end to his misery. Izuku taught Shoto how to let go of his hatred towards Endeavor, and as a result, he was able to become a hero despite the guy. Endeavour, after all, has never aspired to be a hero who rescues the world. Instead, his basic instinct is to win; it was never in the cards for him to keep the people he battled for.
