LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be played by a speedrunner who played 10 LEGO games in a single day, breaking his own record. Before Traveler’s Tales released the first LEGO Star Wars game in 2005, there were plenty of video games based on the popular Norwegian building toy, but that particular title’s mix of kid-friendly action and character collecting would serve as the blueprint for all future digital titles themed after the popular Norwegian building toy.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars and The Force Awakens were the first two instalments in the LEGO video game franchise, but the LEGO video game series would go on to include Marvel, DC, Indiana Jones, and even a LEGO rendition of The Lord of the Rings. There will be a new LEGO game, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, released by Traveler’s Tales. Additionally, The Skywalker Saga will contain a vast cast of 300 playable characters, as well as a reworked lightsaber and blaster combat system that will allow players to take on a variety of roles.
Trailers for The Skywalker Saga have highlighted how the next LEGO game promises to build on the long-running space opera franchise’s mythos, such as exposing Emperor Palpatine’s previously unheard of Order 67 in the game. Mumble Mode will be included in The Skywalker Saga, which removes all in-game language to mimic the pantomime feel of LEGO games from the past. YouTuber Chimkin recently determined to break his previous record of speedrunning the first 10 Traveler’s Tales-developed LEGO games in 21 hours and 15 minutes in preparation for the upcoming release of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (via Game Rant).
As a rehash of the original two LEGO Star Wars games with new stages and playable characters, The Complete Saga seems out of place in our list of speed runs. After finishing all 10 LEGO games in 19 hours and 33 minutes, Chimkin has broken his own record. Fast-forwarding through a game’s storey content is known as “speedrunning” in the online video game streaming community. This is mostly done by studying the game in question, knowing the quickest way to the next plot objective and which characters to avoid, although speedrunners have sometimes adopted methods to shorten playthroughs.
Elden Ring, a freshly published speedrunning game in the Legend of Zelda and Super Mario series, is another popular choice. Since many LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga fans will be missing the previous games, Chimkin’s lightning-quick gameplay of the first ten collect-a-thons is all the more astounding. Like LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga finally launches across all major platforms next week, he’ll be able to plunge into a new LEGO adventure.
