Plot
Japan’s World Cup coach, Jinpachi Ego, has been hired by the Japanese Football Association following a thorough examination of the current state of Japanese soccer in the country (JFA). According to Jinpachi, the Japanese national team is lacking a goal-scoring striker who is forceful in his approach. As a result of this experience, he establishes the Blue Lock, a prison-like facility in which three hundred talented strikers from high schools all around Japan are segregated and pitted against one another. In addition to receiving the opportunity of playing as the national team’s striker, the winner of Blue Lock will also be forever barred from participating in any subsequent matches.
Yoichi Isagi, a striker who was unable to lead his high school soccer team to the national championship tournament, is one of those who have been selected to take part in this perilous project. Even though he didn’t get the ball into the goal, he offered it to a teammate who missed the opportunity, prompting him to wonder whether the outcome would have been different if he had been more unselfish. Yoichi is presented with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for personal improvement as a result of the Blue Lock Project. It is his desire to become the world’s best striker and to lead Japan to World Cup glory in the process.
