Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Chloe Kim will join the Fortnite roster soon. In order to keep gamers interested, Epic Games’ blockbuster battle royale shooter is still doing everything it can. When it comes to adding new features to Fortnite, the team is always looking for ways to keep players engaged and interested. The in-game store, which offers goods like gliders, back bling, pickaxes, and skins, is the primary source of revenue for the free-to-play game. There have been a number of popular TV and movie characters, as well as heroes and villains from comic books, accessible in Fortnite in the previous several years.
It’s common for Epic Games to throw in a celebrity or two, like Travis Scott or Neymar Jr., but this time the Battle Bus has a new passenger: an Olympian. Chloe Kim, the two-time Olympic gold medalist from the United States of America in the sport of snowboarding, will be the newest addition to Fortnite’s roster of playable characters. Fortnite’s item shop will begin selling the Winter Olympics champion on March 26, according to GameSpot. The skin, loading screen, a glider, a pickaxe, an emote, and back bling will all be included in a comprehensive cosmetics bundle that can be purchased individually.
Back to Back, Pink Poppies, Deep Freeze, and a reactive Icy Infusion skin, which changes from Pink Poppies to Deep Freeze as the player racks up more eliminations, are the four other variations of the skin. The Chloe Kim Cup, a duos competition, gives Fortnite players a chance to get their hands on the skin and the Sub-Zero Flight back bling early. The competition will begin on March 24 and last for three hours, during which time participants must participate in 10 duos matches.
All revenues from the Chloe Kim cosmetics bundle and any Fortnite purchases bought before April 3rd will go to Ukrainian relief efforts thanks to Epic Games and Xbox’s drive to contribute money. The universe of Fortnite and its ever-expanding roster of playable characters have evolved significantly over the years. Epic Games is experimenting with deleting the game’s distinctive construction mechanism in Fortnite’s Chapter 3, which has already entered its second season. Players will have to see if they like this new type of play after a major overhaul of one of the game’s basic elements. Because the buttons for construction have not been deleted, Fortnite’s choice to remove construction features is likely a temporary one. Only time will tell what Fortnite’s future holds.
