When the chapter begins, the Devil King and Asta are facing off against each other, with Yami and Nacht still in the clutches of Lucifero. Asta is attacked by Lucifero with a powerful punch, however, instead of being blasted away by the strike, Asta is completely unaffected by it this time around. After a flashback of Liebe’s mother is presented, Asta becomes enraged at Lucifero’s actions. Lucifero quickly understands that Asta has given him a new power, which he can use to effortlessly neutralise any magic that comes into contact with him.
As a result, magic will no longer be able to affect Asta. Yami and Nacht are released from Lucifero’s clutches as Asta fights him once again and cuts Lucifero’s horns and limbs, causing him to fall to the ground. With Asta in his new form, Nacht questions whether this is the actual devil union that he has been waiting for. A different storey is told by Yami, who recalls the moment when he recruited Asta to join their squad. Then Asta realises that he still has 5 seconds left in Devil Union Mode, so he uses the remaining time to assault Lucifero and finish him out.
