Players on PS4 and Xbox One may now begin uploading their Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online save progress in anticipation for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases, thanks to Rockstar Games Social Club. The current-gen enhancements were revealed over two years ago by Rockstar Games, with initial delivery dates scheduled for late 2021. The improved editions of GTA 5 and GTA Online have several graphical and performance enhancements, letting players enjoy the open-world epic in up to 4K resolution, with greater frame rates, ray tracing, higher quality textures, and larger draw distances.
Rockstar has included a few unique features to GTA Online, the most notable of which being Hao’s Special Works, an auto shop where players may improve five current cars and five new vehicles with elite performance driving modifications. These performance increases appear to take full use of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/horsepower. A Rockstar Newswire article not only detailed the performance modes for GTA 5 and GTA Online but also told PS4 and Xbox One customers how to begin transferring save progress with “one-time migration.” Players may now transfer their saves to Rockstar Games Social Club by starting up the last-gen version, going to the Pause menu’s ‘Game’ tab, and then selecting ‘Upload Save Game.’
Only one save may be uploaded at a time, and save data is only accessible for download for 90 days. Those with Rockstar Games Social Club members will be able to migrate their GTA Online persona to the PS5 and Series X/S at launch. The transfer considers all aspects of growth, including character, clothes, weapons, jobs, stats, vehicles, and in-game cash. The save transfer process for both Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online appears to be straightforward, due in part to Rockstar Games Social Club. Let’s hope the download step goes as easily as the uploading portion of the equation.
Fortunately, gamers will be able to see for themselves how well-organized things are in just a few weeks. As previously stated, Rockstar has also provided information on what customers can anticipate from the visual options in the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S editions. Fidelity Mode is capable of 4K resolution with ray tracing enabled at the desired frame rate of 30 frames per second. Performance Mode aims for 60 frames per second at an upscaled 4K resolution. Finally, Performance RT Mode provides a hybrid option with upscaled 4K graphics, ray tracing, and up to 60fps gameplay.
