Fans Discover Hints for Pokémon Violet and Scarlet in Sword & Shield, the BDSP

According to admirers, Violet and Scarlet are linked to Swords and Shield and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. It’s too soon to know much more about the next Pokémon game, but Nintendo has already released the beginning Pokémon for Violet and Scarlet. Millions of Pokémon enthusiasts keep a careful eye on the series, which is one of the biggest brands in media. This long-running casual gaming series has had hundreds of entries when counting each release separately rather than treating the double-releases as one. BDSP and Arceus: Legends of Arceus were published within a few months of one other.

Pokémon Sword and Shield, the first Switch-exclusive game in the series, preceded both of these titles. Each game takes place in a different fictitious territory, which may or may not is based on a real locale (Pokémon BDSP’s Sinnoh region, for example). Many fans have speculated about what this ninth-generation world would look like since the announcement that Pokémon Violet and Scarlet will be released this year. Reddit user DDD-HERO (as noted by IGN) has been looking at previous Pokémon trailers for indications as speculation mounts among Pokémon enthusiasts regarding the game’s upcoming release.

DDD-HERO noticed an orange-and-grape-print wallpapered portion of the Hotel Ionia in Circhester when looking through Pokémon Sword & Shield. This is significant since the promo for Pokémon Violet and Scarlet included oranges and grapes. A patch of yellow and white flowers in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl was altered to purple-and-red flowers in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl – hues that are extremely similar to violet and scarlet, respectively. It’s not unheard of for Pokémon games to include references and Easter eggs, so these findings might be important.

Since Game Freak has been making these games for decades, it’s safe to assume that they have long-term plans for when they will be released. Almost sure, the teams who worked on Pokémon Sword and Shield and Pokémon Diamond and Pearl were aware of Pokémon Violet and Scarlet. However, it’s possible that these coincidences are nothing more than a fluke. So it seems fitting that the wallpaper for Pokémon Violet & Scarlet has oranges and grapes, as well as the trailer for the game. When it comes to flower colours in the Pokémon BDSP games, there are various possibilities as to why they changed from their original hues. Whatever the case, Pokémon fans should expect to learn more in the months to come about this imminent release.
