Grand Theft Auto Online’s Los Santos, a virtual city created by Rockstar, is usually a place of mayhem and devastation, but on this Valentine’s Day, a group of skilled gamers decided to put on a far more wholesome show. A virtual playground for wannabe daredevils and alien cosplayers, GTA Online debuted alongside the hugely popular Grand Theft Auto 5 in 2013.
Grand Theft Auto Online gamers can expect plenty of official Rockstar events and extra content, like a Cyberpunk 2077-themed motorcycle and a recent update that opens up GTA Online’s Short Trips missions to all players. As a unique Valentine’s Day advertising tool, Grand Theft Auto Online provided players triple XP for engaging in team-based ‘Till Death Do Us Part and Shotgun Wedding Deathmatch games during last year’s love celebrations.
There are several cosmetic items, guns, and vehicles, as well as additional XP boots, new price ride challenges, and a greater chance of finding the rare pink diamond in Cayo Perico’s heists in GTA Online, which was unveiled a few days ago. This year’s Valentine’s Day, some of Grand Theft Auto Online’s more adventurous gamers took matters into their own hands, as documented by GameRant.
The GTA Online subreddit was recently graced with a video submitted by _Tonan_, a Reddit member and GTA Online player, showing a group of daredevils doing an airborne stunt above Los Santos’s Vespucci beach region. Valentine’s Day-themed smoke trails are used by the in-game crew while flying in jets to create a pink heart in the sky. With over 3.6 thousand upvotes and several comments praising their team’s immaculate timing and recalling their own Valentine’s Day GTA Online sessions from years past, Tonan’s article has gone viral. When Grand Theft Auto was initially released, Los Santos, the virtual city of Los Santos, quickly became the virtual home of a big and enthusiastic player community.
The Contract, a story-based update for GTA Online, was also included, which includes an appearance by GTA 5 protagonist Franklin Clinton and songs from notable rappers like Dr Dre and Eminem. It’s not the first time that GTA Online players have pulled off an astonishing mid-air trick, with users hijacking fighter jets out of the sky and pushing the game’s physics engine to its limits to fly through a tiny space between buildings. While the timing of this new Grand Theft Auto Online prank is notable, it’s also a show of how Rockstar’s multiplayer online sandbox is able to unite people on Valentine’s Day.
