An eagerly awaited game for 2022, Sifu puts players in the middle of an interactive martial arts film with fast-paced hand-to-hand combat and a roguelike ageing system that adds an extra degree of difficulty and variety to the action.
Chinese martial arts films have a rich narrative tradition, which Sifu aims to capture. Players assume the character of a Kung Fu pupil who is tasked with retribution for the murder of their father by eliminating five martial arts instructors. Sifu’s distinctive structure is built on this internal tension. One modder has replaced Sifu’s protagonist with the famed assassin John Wick in order to provide some stunning combat and excitement for fans. John Wick is shown shooting and fighting his way out of a neon-lit nightclub in the original film, which is reenacted in this video.
