The release date for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for the Nintendo Switch was announced at the February 2022 Nintendo Direct. In the year 2021, Jenna Coleman (Melia from Xenoblade Chronicles) said in an interview that she was working on a new Xenoblade Chronicles game, which led to rumours of a leak. At this point, Xenoblade Chronicles has three instalments (not counting remasters and ports). Xenoblade Chronicles X is the only Wii U-exclusive title in the series, but many fans anticipate it will be transferred to the Nintendo Switch in the future.
The series contains a few common threads, and the most recent instalment will bind them all together. For the first time in the series’ history, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has been released on the Nintendo Switch, making it possible to play through all of the games in the series. To wrap up the Nintendo Direct in February 2022, a new Xenoblade Chronicles 3 teaser was shown (and can be watched in its entirety on the official Nintendo YouTube account).
The plot of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will be intertwined in this game, which suggests that characters from both games may appear together. On the official Nintendo website for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, new information about the game has been published. A struggle between the countries of Angus and Keves is at the heart of the plot, which features Noah and Mio as the two protagonists.
There will be six characters from Keves and Angus featured in the game, all of which have their own storey to tell. It will be intriguing to see how these new characters’ storylines tie to Shulk and Rex’s in the Xenoblade Chronicles series in different ways. Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s September release date is also causing some consternation. Because huge Switch holiday releases normally come out in late October or November, this means that they won’t be available in 2022.
Because of this, many people feel that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will fill the gap left by the September release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Because of this, the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles game won’t be overshadowed by its predecessor. Just like its predecessors, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 promises to be a fantastic addition to the franchise. Hopefully, Xenoblade Chronicles X will be released for the Nintendo Switch as well, bringing the complete series together on a single system.
