Because to the Ingenuity of One Fan, Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Now Called The Shining

With a few brilliant design decisions, a player of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has made their game into The Shining. For the first time since its release in March 2020, Nintendo’s social simulator series has broadened the creative choices accessible to gamers, allowing for more intricate creations that are typically influenced by other intellectual properties. New Horizons has one of the most customizable item catalogues in the Animal Crossing series, making personalization a key part of the gameplay.

The advent of the Animal Crossing Custom Design Pro Editor+ allows users to broaden their creative activities, allowing them to have up to 100 design spaces. When it comes to creating remarkable builds or realistic recreations, though, some players have found that even this isn’t quite enough. It recently displayed a design based on the 1980 Stanley Kubrick horror picture, The Shining. As a result, the design slots are highly relied upon, and they are utilised to their best potential with prominent elements like a detailed depiction of the Overlook Hotel and an assortment of papers all saying “all work and no play makes Jack a boring kid.” DamnNearKilled A typewriter and an axe were also incorporated into the design to give it a more Animal Crossing feel.

Although the Reddit user expressed sorrow, they did express their desire to put a bespoke REDRUM sticker to their horror scene. Unfortunately, the developer ran out of custom design spaces for Animal Crossing, therefore this was not feasible. Despite the fact that Animal Crossing is known for its bright, joyful aesthetic, some players have attempted to introduce disturbing material into the social sim. In the last several years, New Horizons has produced adaptations of The Ring and other horror-inspired works.

While some of the original source’s creepiness has been successfully translated into these designs, the general charm of Animal Crossing has remained. Despite the fact that players in New Horizons have a plethora of customisable choices at their disposal, the game does contain certain restrictions. Although this contributes to the impressiveness of certain Animal Crossing fan drawings, this is not the case for everyone. All that matters is how Animal Crossing: New Horizons gamers may attain the look they want, even if it’s not a literal translation.
