Jujutsu Kaisen’s Background (storyline)
Yuji Itadori, a Sendai high school student who lives with his grandfather, is in terrific shape. Despite his innate competitiveness, due to the time commitment, he misses the racing crew on a daily basis. Instead, he joins the Occult Study Club after learning about it while visiting his late grandpa in the hospital. Yuji’s grandfather gives him two significant bits of advice on his deathbed: “always aid people” and “die surrounded by others.” His grandfather’s regrets appear to be the root of these two ideas. Following his grandfather’s death, Yuji perceives these letters as a single proclamation: “a decent dying” is worth everyone.
Megumi Fushiguro, a sorcerer, approaches him and informs him that he has lately come into contact with a high-grade doomed charm talisman. Curses were opened by the decaying fingers of his Occult Club friends, entities generated by bad emotions and multiplied by consuming magical energy contained in sorciers or even other charms. Yuji chucks his fingers and becomes the host of Ryomen Sukuna, a dominant curse, to protect Megumi and his colleagues from the Curses. He is impotent in the face of them.
All sorcerers must dismiss Sukuna as quickly as possible due to his evil nature. Yuji’s body was returned to him, but he is still possessed. Satoru Gojo, Megumi’s instructor, wanted to accompany him to Tokyo’s Jujutsu High School to make a request to his superiors after viewing this. It was only a matter of postponing Yuji’s execution long enough for him to swallow all of Sukuna’s fingers and eventually kill him.
