Halo Infinite’s Forge and Co-Op Mode Development Updates Have Been Postponed

Halo Infinite’s Forge and campaign co-op features will now be updated at a later date by 343 Industries. A few months ago, 343 Industries let fans know that there will be no Forge or campaign co-op available upon release of Halo Infinite. Season 2 of the shooter would instead feature Forge Mode, which would then be followed by a co-op mode in Season 3.

The expansion of Halo Infinite Season 1 until May 2022 ruffled a significant number of feathers because it was evident that both Seasons 2 and 3 will continue to sit on the bench for a considerable amount of time. Players of Halo were told in November 2021 that might expect information on Forge and campaign co-operative modes in January. To the dismay of many, the beginning of the new year came and went without an update. As a result, questions remain unanswered about Halo Infinite Season 2 and beyond. This week, 343 Industries Head of Creative, Joseph Staten (via VGC), shared his thoughts on the future of Halo Infinite on Twitter.

Forge and campaign co-op were originally supposed to be covered in a press update in January, but Staten says the team has delayed it in order to “finalise” specific ideas on which players can rely. He went on to say that putting together the upcoming news update is his “top priority,” but he wouldn’t say when the specifics will start making the rounds. Below is a link to Staten’s post on the subject.

Halo Infinite Seasonal roadmap and future modes news fans will be disappointed, to be sure, but at least 343 Industries isn’t in a hurry to divulge promises it ultimately can’t meet. Season 1 of the first-person shooter is scheduled to last until May, which gives the studio plenty of time to layout future content plans. In December 2021, Halo Infinite was finally released online and in stores after a long and tumultuous development cycle. While the game was released, there were some glitches, mainly with the combat pass. While 343 continues to work out the bugs in this area, additional updates are targeting the corrections for Big Team Battle and shop-related enhancements. For Halo Infinite, the fun is only just getting started.
