Sloclap has published a teaser video for its much-anticipated game, Sifu, which gives players a sneak peek at the storyline and captures the spirit of classic martial arts films from the past. This is the newest buzz for a promising indie game that finds the protagonist on a mission of retribution and ageing several years every time they die in combat. Since its first unveiling in early 2021, Sifu has continued to arouse interest. Originally scheduled for release in July of 2021, Sloclap’s next title won’t arrive until February of 2022, thanks to a postponement.
The game’s outstanding fighting has earned it one of the most anticipated games of 2022, which is no small achievement considering the AAA blockbusters also arriving this year. The game seeks to let players feel the furious action of martial art movies. Fajar, the assassin who killed the protagonist’s father, is the subject of a short video uploaded on the Sloclap YouTube channel, Sifu: At the Cost of Time. Two unlucky henchmen, spoken by Zhe Qin and performed by Alvin Hsing, stand in the way of the main character’s path to Fajar.
The protagonist rapidly defeats the guards in this meeting, which serves as the first action sequence in the short film. Action resumes after a brief encounter with Fajar, as the protagonist battles a wave of thugs before taking on a machete-wielding opponent. In Sifu: At the Cost of Time’s action, essential components of the game, such as Sifu’s unique ageing system, are brought to light. After working on Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Christopher Clark Cowan was hired to helm the short film in Los Angeles. Junchang Lu, the Stunt and Fight Coordinator, gets credit for the film’s dramatic and well-choreographed action.
Using Mandarin and English subtitles, Sifu: At the Cost of Time adheres to the style of films it is based on. If you’re a lover of martial arts flicks, you’ll definitely like this live-action version of a video game that serves mostly to promote the game’s debut. It appears that Sifu will be a significant addition to PlayStation and the Epic Games Store for PC as a platform exclusive.
PlayStation is not in any way failing, but the paucity of exclusives published in the previous year has been criticised by some, even though 2022 already seems better than it did in 2018. Contrary to popular belief, many PC gamers despise the Epic Store since it lacks fundamental functions like a shopping cart, which will be implemented in September 2021 at the earliest. As a result, Sifu is a highly anticipated exclusive for both businesses, as it has the potential to be a candidate for the 2022 Game Of The Year award.
