Fry Cry 5, a popular location for recreations, was used by a Reddit user to recreate the classic starting village of Pokémon Red and Blue. This reimagining of Pallet Town, the hometown of both the original game’s hero and the Pokémon anime’s Ash Ketchum, is a mix of the familiar and the unfamiliar. Even though it may be a while before players see a Pokémon game like this, it’s fun to imagine what it may look like. First launched in 1996 in Japan, and then released in the United States and Europe in 1998, Pokémon Red and Blue was a huge hit and paved the way for the vast Pokémon series.
Kanto has been reimagined four times since the initial games, each time in a new Pokémon game. Despite this, many fans continue to fantasise about what the original Pokémon world might look like if it were recreated using contemporary technology. Redditor mojowoptops2020 posted a video of his Xbox One replica of Pokémon’s Pallet Town. The photos show what a hypothetical future Pokémon game may look like if they were made with Fry Cry 5’s in-game map creator. The original layout of the town, including the dwellings of the protagonist and his opponent, as well as Professor Oak’s laboratory, is nearly identical.
It’s possible that if this was a complete game remake, players may run across Professor Oak again at the entrance to Route 1, which is visible to the north of town. The last view of Route 21, which connects Pallet Town with Cinnabar Island, can be seen to the south. Fans and journalists alike have voiced their displeasure with the Pokémon series’ sluggish graphical advancements. Arceus, the latest entry in the Pokémon Legends series, is the first to have a fully 3D world and complete camera control.
But despite this, several reviewers still panned the game’s visuals for being archaic in comparison to other Nintendo Switch titles, such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. As a result, it’s possible that the Pallet Town from Fry Cry 5 may take some time to make an appearance for fans. Even yet, it’s possible that fans won’t be too disappointed when they finally get to see Pallet Town with its new design. In the Pokémon fandom, there is a significant number of people that do not want to see any more Kanto area remakes.
There is no denying that Game Freak’s preference for the Generation 1 setting over other areas of the Pokémon World has been overstated. Two remakes of Pokémon Red and Blue concentrated on Kanto, and the area appeared in Pokémon Gold and Silver and their remakes after the game ended. There is no denying that this replica of Pallet Town is a wonderful work of art, but the Pokemon fans may be less enthused if it were included in another Generation 1 remake.
