Synopsis
Since the Edo period in Japan, gladiator arenas have appeared in a variety of styles across the world. Gladiators are hired by wealthy businessmen and merchants to engage in an unarmed conflict in which the victor takes all. Kengan is the name given to these kinds of competitions.
Yamashita Kazuo, an ordinary Japanese employee of the Nogi Group, witnesses an alley brawl. Nogi Hideki had seen Tokita “Ashura” Ohma, who had defeated their last opponent, in the street battle. In order to keep Kazuo in check, Ohma has no choice but to act as his manager. Hideki accepts his invitation to play in the Kengan Annihilation Tournament because of his exceptional skill to destroy his opponents.
The winner of this contest will become Chairman of the Kengan Association, a position of enormous influence and renown in the Kengan community. As Kazuo tries to manage Ohma and discover why he was invited to the tournament in the first place, Ohma’s odd background resurfaces.
