Player Alert: Discontinued Developer Blue Box Warns of Pre-Order Scam

Abandoned developer Blue Box Game Studios has published a statement after learning that its YouTube channel had been hacked and that a scammer was sending pre-order emails to unsuspecting players. Abandoned, a PlayStation 5 exclusive, was introduced in April 2021 as an enigmatic survival shooter with a cinematic twist. Due to fan speculation about Abandoned being a hidden Hideo Kojima project to bring Silent Hills back to life, the company found itself embroiled in controversy. Fans, despite the studio’s repeated denials, believe that Abandoned is a new Silent Hill title despite the studio’s repeated denials.

A large conspiracy has sprung up around the game’s ongoing mystery, and some have gone so far as to accuse the developers of fraud. Blue Box Games Studios was founded in 2015, however, a thorough investigation has discovered a history of unreleased projects. This has sparked rumours that Abandoned will be the same and will never see the light of day. Additionally, the company failed to give a premiere Abandoned trailer on a five-gigabyte exclusive app and instead reused an animation fragment they had already posted on social media to prove their point. Blue Box Game Studios has announced that the studio’s official YouTube account has been hacked in a fresh tweet on the studio’s official Twitter account today.

Additionally, the studio has received emails from gamers indicating that they’ve received emails from the studio to acquire a pre-order of Abandoned from them, the developer says. If you receive a suspicious email, don’t open it and don’t send any money, because it’s a scam, Blue Box cautions you. There have been no more updates from the studio regarding the current situation. With the unfavourable reaction to Abandoned’s inclusion in 2021, the studio’s tragedy is on full display again. To go along with the hacking and online death threats, Blue Box also stated at the end of last year that its staff had been physically abused and that they were working with law enforcement to put an end to the abuse.

Despite the fact that threats have been kept to a minimum since the declaration, it appears that the unfairly vilified title is still a target. Players should be informed of the situation, even if it isn’t clear who the hacker is or if Blue Box Game Studios has taken any action yet. Abandoned’s development may be seen on the studio’s website, where additional information and progress updates can be found.
