Reputable Metal Gear and Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima are reportedly working on a PlayStation VR 2 game. Over the span of 30 years, the gaming auteur has crafted a slew of blockbuster games with a heavy emphasis on narrative and player freedom. For some, the PlayStation VR 2 is a perfect match for Kojima’s distinctive aesthetic, which Sony unveiled at CES 2022 with the announcement of the PlayStation VR 2. Hideo Kojima is widely regarded as the father of the stealth video game genre, having directed the 1987 MSX2 game Metal Gear.
As a result of this early breakthrough, Kojima’s games have continued to push the boundaries of what is possible today. Before the headset’s January debut, Kojima Productions acquired a PSVR 2 developer kit in November 2021, providing the director and producer plenty of time to begin work on the device.
