In the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive series A Twitch streamer has been banned from the service after disclosing their identity during a game. Popular streamers are frequently banned from the platform. Disguised Toast and Pokimane, two of the most famous Twitch streams, were apparently suspended this month for violating the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
For the second time in a week, a streamer has been suspended for violating the terms of service. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a multiplayer first-person shooter, is frequently streamed on Twitch. In a variety of game variants, two teams face off against each other. There are two teams of five players each competing to plant or defuse a bomb in competitive mode.
The winner of the overall match is determined by the number of map victories each side has. Due to the popularity of the online multiplayer first-person shooter in esports, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is frequently televised on Twitch. The Golden Snipers, a CS: GO esports squad consisting solely of over-60s players, is one of the most well-known. Twitch banned a minor Counter-Strike: Global Offensive streamer for pulling down their pants to shave themselves during a match, according to Dexerto’s report on the matter. Streamer csgoambi started streaming in April of last year and has a small audience.
In an unrelated incident, csgoambi shaved on camera during a CS:GO match on January 27 for unknown reasons. Twitch censors were quick to remove the clip and ban the channel when it went viral on social media. Temporary or permanent bans on Twitch channels are both possible options. Disguised Toast’s purported suspension would have lasted a month, whereas Pokimane’s was only expected to last 48 hours. csgoambi’s suspension is likely to be permanent because Twitch has rigorous community guidelines regarding nudity and provocative content. csgoambi’s decision to come out in the open seems puzzling. Maybe they didn’t realise their camera was recording, or they didn’t realise their actions violated Twitch’s community standards.
There is, of course, the option that they were aware of the consequences and decided to go ahead and do it anyway. A popular video game like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive may be streamed by anyone using the Twitch platform. But if a streamer breaks Twitch’s regulations, their account might be suspended or permanently banned. The only way to ensure everyone’s safety is to avoid having their intimate shaving done in front of a camera.
