Evil Dead: The Game, a co-op survival horror game based on the popular horror comedy film series, has been postponed once more. In the game, which was first teased back in 2020, gamers would take control of a monster demon while another takes control of a team of Deadites. Bruce Campbell will provide the voice of Ash Williams in Evil Dead: The Game, marking the actor’s final appearance as the goofy undead hunter. Cooperative survival games like Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th: The Game appear to have inspired Evil Dead: The Game, which was developed by Saber Interactive.
Deadites hordes must be defeated in order to gain access to the Necronomicon’s pages, where players can select from a variety of characters from the series. The Kandarian Demon can also be controlled by a single player, who can take control of non-player characters and use them to assault the remaining survivors. It was announced back in 2020 but it was delayed by Saber Interactive until February 2022 in order to polish and add a single-player mode to Evil Dead: The Game. A new delay has been reported for Evil Dead: The Game (via Twitter), following a previous one. The Deadite-slaying simulator will now be released on May 13, 2022, rather than February 20, 2022.
Saber Interactive hasn’t explained exactly why the delay is taking place, just saying that the extra time will allow them to give “the finest possible experience.” According to the studio, the final release date will be May 13, which coincidentally falls on a Friday the 13th. Evil Dead: The Game is also expected to see a new trailer this month.
Cooperative survival may fascinate some gamers, but diehard Evil Dead fans just want to see a new movie.
Bruce Campbell, the series’ beloved star, returns for Evil Dead: The Game after the closure of the television series Ash vs. Evil Dead, making this production particularly noteworthy. Most of the films in the horror series have included this venerable actor, including the original Evil Dead from 1981 and 1992’s Army of Darkness. The Necronomicon keeps bringing him back to the job, despite his repeated announcements of retirement. Repetitive delays in the release of Evil Dead: The Game has piqued some fans’ interest.
In order to give the greatest possible experience, Saber Interactive has decided to delay the release for a further period of time. Evil Dead: The Game is expected to be released in the near future, thanks to an upcoming teaser and what appears to be a final release date.
