One-Punch Man made its debut on the anime market several years ago, and the show’s first season is still regarded as a classic among fans of superheroes and action movies. Despite the fact that Saitama and Genos amassed an army in a handful of episodes, their screen presence has decreased since then.
The show’s second season was a disappointment for many fans, but the community is now banding together to demand a better future for the show. The movement began on Reddit and quickly moved to other social media platforms, including Twitter and Tumblr. It was at this event that fans of the webcomic and manga expressed their disappointment at the conclusion of season two and asked for the revival of One-Punch Man with a new animation studio at the helm. “I personally prefer the sound of Studio Bones!
This is the same group of individuals who are responsible for Mob Psycho 100. According to user gofancyninjaworld, “They are familiar with and excited about ONE’s works. They collaborate well with ONE. They are technically incredibly imaginative. And when they want to, they produce great action with crisp, crisp, snappy choreography.”
“I’ve expressed this previously as well,” said another commenter in response to Ferdz’s post. Given the fact that Bones is now shooting the final season of Mob, I believe that would be wonderful. Taking on [One-Punch Man] with ONE punch would be a perfect way to close the book. If Studio Bones were to take over, it would be a wonderful thing!”
For those who are new to the character, One-Punch Man originated at Madhouse. The recording studio Shingo Natsume was hired to direct, and the renowned artist leveraged his connections to gather an incredible roster of animators for the project. The recording studio While this assisted season one in thriving in the face of fierce competition, a protracted absence hampered Madhouse from successfully managing season two.
The most recent episode of the anime series was directed by J.C. Staff, and the studio failed to impress on every level. From the writing to the animation, fans were heartbroken when One-Punch Man was killed off because J.C. Staff lacked the means to give Saitama proper credit.
Since the conclusion of season two in July 2019, there has been no word on whether or not the show would return for a third season, and fans have all but given up hope given the show’s poor reception in the past. Fans will eagerly lend their support to any studio that is willing to take on the IP, such as Bones or MAPPA. What are your thoughts on the possibility of One-Punch Man being revived for a third season? Is it possible that the anime suffered as a result of the bad response to Season 2?
