World Trigger is an anime adaptation of the Japanese manga by Daisuke Ashihara. Toei Animation published the first season of World Trigger, which included roughly 70 episodes, in 2014. The season was well-received by the general public and ended in 2016. The series was later resurrected by the studio for two more seasons in 2021, with the original actors reprising their roles.
However, the third season has also come to an end after 14 wonderful episodes. After a one-week delay, the final episode of World Trigger Season 3 was recently released. Anime fans are now asking if Toei Animation plans to bring the series back for a fourth season. Everything you need to know about it is right here.
Is there going to be the fourth season of World Trigger?
At the time of writing, Toei Animation had not yet officially confirmed Season 4 of the World Trigger anime. The Japanese animation, on the other hand, has a good chance of being revived for a second season. World Trigger’s third season, like the previous two, was well received by anime fans. According to several fans, Season 3 is the best season of the show so far. Toei Animation had planned to release the second season of World Trigger but instead chose to release a whole new season of World Trigger (Via: Monster and Critics).
However, the studio’s efforts were rewarded, as the new season currently has an 8.22/10 rating on the Anime list, based on over 10,000 votes. Toei Animation would be foolish, in my opinion, to cancel the series after only three seasons. Furthermore, according to rumours, Season 3 adapted the storey to Volume 22 of the manga. World Trigger has so far been published in 24 volumes, indicating that the studio has enough material to produce another season of the anime series.
Is there a release date for World Trigger Season 4?
Of course, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation from Toei before we can find out when the second season will be available. If the studio agrees to resurrect the show, a new season might premiere by the end of 2022 or the first half of 2023. The company released the third season of World Trigger just a few months after finishing Season 2. So, if the next season’s episode count stays under 15, the firm may be able to reintroduce the show in less than a year.
