Based on Noda Hiroshi and Takahiro Wakamatsu’s 2019 manga of the same name, this upcoming anime from Project No. 9 aims to present a captivating and hilarious love storey about two people on opposing sides of a hero and villain battle. With a pre-determined release date, a huge cast list, and an intriguing plot centred on star-crossed lovers, “Love After World Domination” could be the next major romance anime. With that in mind, here is everything we currently know about this new anime.
When will Love After World Domination be released?
According to Anime News Network, the “Love After World Domination” anime first became known in April 2021, when Kodansha announced it in the May issue of Monthly Shonen Magazine. Since then, the anime has disclosed additional cast members and released a teaser video, indicating a release date of sometime in 2022. On August 24, anime streaming provider Funimation announced that it would be in charge of presenting the series to an international audience in addition to its pre-existing broadcasting schedule on Japanese television.
This is great news for anime fans because it suggests the series will most likely be simulcast. In other words, once new episodes air in Japan, they will be available on Funimation. The sole disadvantage of this circumstance is that Funimation has not stated whether or not the show would be dubbed in any other languages.
This is obviously not essential for anyone living outside of Japan to appreciate anime, but it does help many viewers who prefer watching series in their own language. If they insist on watching a dubbed version, they may have to wait even longer than the rest of the “Love After World Domination” fan base.
What is the story of Love After World Domination all about?
Much of the plot for “Love After Domination” should be clear by now. The plot revolves around Fudo and Desumi as they strive to manage their relationship with their professional lives. Going from genuine street warfare to being affectionate is a distinct effort. However, these two appear to be able to make it work, one day at a time. But don’t let it fool you into thinking they’re gentle with each other. The trailer, if anything, illustrates how serious these two are about their roles as hero and villain, respectively.
Fudo wishes for nothing more than world peace, whereas Desumi longs for the day when Gekko would rule over the entire world. When it comes time to fight, they don’t hold back (well, maybe a little, sometimes). It’s just that, at the end of the day, they’re still madly in love with each other. How will these two lovebirds keep their love alive when it appears like they are always at odds? We won’t know until “Love After World Domination” premieres in 2022.
Who are the protagonists of Love After World Domination?
Two star-crossed lovers are at the heart of “Love After World Domination.” The first is Fudo Aikawa, aka Red Gelato, a “Power Rangers”-style tokusatsu hero. Fudo leads the Gelato 5 in their struggle against the wicked organisation known as Gekko. Unfortunately, one of Gekko’s top henchmen, Desumi Megahara (called Princess of Death), has completely swept him off his feet. Yusuke Kobayashi and Ikumi Hasegawa provide the duo’s voices (via ANN). Fumihiko Tachiki narrates their storey.
Of course, they are not alone. The term “Gelato 5” implies four other heroes on Fudo’s team by itself. Blue Gelato aka Hayato Oji (voiced by Kazuyuki Okitsu), Yellow Gelato aka Misaki Jinguji (Nene Hieda), Green Gelato aka Daigo Todoroki (Junji Majima), and Pink Gelato aka Haru Orisugawa are the other Gelatos (Rina Hidaka). Professor Big Gelato, a scientist, also lends his support to the group (Chafurin). These six fight against Gekko’s evil forces while blissfully oblivious of their leaders’ scandalous affair.
Meanwhile, some genuinely out-of-this-world baddies occupy the evil side. Supreme Leader Bosslar, the leader of Gekko, is as stereotypically nasty as they come. Tomokazu Sugita provides his voice. This is not to dismiss his equally nasty henchmen, such as Culverin Bear (Hiroki Yasumoto), Princess of Steel (Hisako Kanemoto), and Princess of Magical Beasts (Hiroki Kanemoto) (Kana Hanazawa).
