The official Community Day for the month of February for Pokémon GO has been announced, and it will focus on the Flying/Grass-type Pokémon Hoppip. The Pokémon GO Tour: Johto event will take place at the end of February, making this not the only in-game event taking place this month. Community Days were added to Niantic’s augmented reality title roughly a year and a half after the game’s initial release. Since January of 2018, Pokémon GO has set aside one day each month to focus on a single Pokémon. On certain selected days, the highlighted Pokémon will have greater spawn rates, a higher possibility of Shiny variants spawning, and a higher probability of the Pokémon having a special move when acquired.
These perks are only accessible for a limited time, and players can also get additional benefits such as higher XP. Last month, however, two unique Community Days were introduced, with the addition of a Pokémon GO Community Day Classic event featuring Bulbasaur. The other Community Day topic for January was the Ice/Water-type Pokémon Spheal, and both days took place during the still-running Season of Heritage. This in-game season, which began in December of last year, put a novel spin on the monthly tradition by concentrating on multiple Pokémon from previous Community Days.
As of now, only one Community Day has been scheduled for February, and it is uncertain whether Niantic intends to continue with future versions of the Community Day Classic event. February is already shaping up to be a busy month in the title of augmented reality. While January had its fair number of in-game events, nothing appeared to be as elaborate as the impending Johto Tour, despite the fact that it, too, is only slated for one day. As a result, Pokémon GO gamers may only receive one Community Day next month, as the developer’s attention may be drawn to the significantly more expensive tour event.
