The latest chapter of One Piece has more Luffy vs. Kaido action. The Fire Festival at Wano appears to be coming to a close, which suggests that the conflict at Onigashima may follow suit. Things are heating up in the Wano arc!
Recap of One Piece Chapter 1037
The event is still in full swing in the Flower Capital, but some are already planning for its demise. Although Kaido and Luffy are still fighting, Kaido has begun to drink. He bursts out laughing, tears welling up in his eyes, prompting Luffy to chastise him for being inebriated. Kaido explains that this shows he recognises Luffy’s power. He launches a barrage of blows powerful enough to break the earth.
While fighting Luffy, Kaido’s attitude shifts and he begins to cry. Luffy successfully counterattacks. They combat once more, this time with their Haki. Kaido has become agitated, and they both trade punches. Luffy ultimately delivers a kick powerful enough to make Kaido cough up some blood.
Meanwhile, in Marijoa, the Five Elders discuss what is going on in Wano. They had no idea the dispute would escalate to this point. In any case, they’re talking about how a battle between Kaido and Big Mom may be good to them. For some reason, they believe that the CP0 members have already caught Robin.
The Five Elders also discuss a strange Devil Fruit whose name has been altered by the World Government in order to erase the previous name from history. The World Government ships waiting near Wano, on the other hand, come upon a giant elephant shadow.
