Spoilers for Chapter 66 of Boruto: Death of a Major Character?
When Borushiki and Kawaki first meet in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Borushiki is holding a fully charged Chou Oodama Rasengan and fires it at Naruto. To protect Naruto, Kawaki leaps in front of the attack, but he is stunned when he absorbs all of its power.
After activating the new Karma form, Kawaki’s left eye has been coloured in, and we can see Isshiki’s horn and finger pattern. Is it even possible? Code is baffled and wonders how this happened.
There have been major leaks before of the next chapter’s release date, so be on the lookout for those. Chapter 66, titled “Kill or Be Killed,” has been released by the reputable source known as Organic Dinosaur.
New Karma-activated arm of Kawaki appears at the start of the chapter’s events. An old talk with Amado regarding “power” brings up memories for him.
Ada and Code are perplexed by Kawaki’s “awakening” of this power, wondering if the repairs to his arm and the ensuing struggle could have been the conditions necessary to do so.
When Borushiki begins to taunt Kawaki, Kawaki looks at his arm and then coldly stares at Borushiki.
To Borushiki’s surprise, Kawaki appears with nine black rods that he directs at him, but the latter is able to avoid the initial strike. A scythe-wielding Kawaki assaults Borushiki with another attack, which the latter is able to avoid, but the attacks are coming closer.
In the skies above them, four black cubes begin to form before falling to the earth and unleashing another tremendous onslaught.
Code’s claw is still around Shikamaru’s neck, and as Naruto and Kawaki converse, he continues to gently dig deeper. Upon asking Kawaki how far he is prepared to go, Naruto learns that he is only doing what has to be done to protect his master.
Despite Kawaki’s distraction, Borushiki attempts a flanking assault, but he is able to dispel the chakra used in the technique.
To counter Borushiki’s attempts to kick Kawaki, the latter uses a “unnamed fire ninjutsu,” which Kawaki successfully extinguishes with a quick shrinking and re-expansion of his stature.
Despite Borushiki’s increased distance and a few hurled Shuriken, however, Kawaki is able to reduce the impact of these attacks. As the battle gets more intense, they keep slamming into one other, and Naruto is growing more and more nervous as he watches them go at it.
As four more black rods appear, Kawaki makes an open palm motion, indicating that Boruto is re-emerging. It was a direct strike to Boruto’s bicep, thigh, abdomen, shoulder, and knee.
Just when a massive black cube is about to fall on Boruto, Naruto enters and saves him.
Naruto says this isn’t funny and he has to calm down before murdering Boruto. Kawaki doesn’t believe him at first. His father is pushed away by Boruto, who suddenly gets up and stands. He has a hand over one of his eyes. The “last resort” choice is what he says while he is kneeling on the ground and staring towards the horizon.
Naruto screams in terror as Boruto makes the serpent hand seal with his hands. Boruto uses Wind Release Gale Palm to blast Naruto out of the danger once more.
In response to Boruto’s request for Kawaki to murder him while his mind is still repressing Momoshiki, Kawaki claims that Boruto has been preparing for this moment for some time now.
A good metre of the altered arm of Kawaki has now exited the opposite side and is presently gushing blood towards Boruto.
As Kawaki stretches his arm further, bringing the two to face-to-face, then retracts it, Boruto is sent flying into the air and lands in a crumpled heap. On his back, Boruto has his head twisted to the right. Naruto’s face is expressionless as he stares at the huge hole in his chest.
Although Boruto’s death has not been verified, supporters should keep in mind that he might still be alive by the end of Chapter 66.
When will the 66th chapter of Boruto be published?
According to MangaPlus and other official sources, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 66 will be released on Thursday, January 20, 2022.
