Players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons recently flocked to Reddit to discuss their tactics for creating the perfect Snowboy – the game’s affectionate term for the snowmen that appear during the winter season. Northern hemisphere players are currently experiencing their real-world weather patterns in Nintendo’s social simulation game – however, even if a player does not witness snow falling outside their window in the real world, they may still experience it in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Snowboys, on the other hand, are a little more unusual than real-life snowman. Snowboys come to life in Animal Crossing: New Horizons if they are constructed “properly” – that is, proportionately. After a player completes this accomplishment, their Snowboy will remain alive for a number of days and will reward them with a snowflake (which can be used as an ingredient in certain wintry DIY recipes). Additionally, Snowboys provide gamers with do-it-yourself recipes in general. As a result, there is a great deal to be gained from properly constructing a Snowboy – and if a player fails to do so, the Snowboy is not shy about informing them.
Reddit user MidnightCowgirl- recently shared an informative infographic outlining a straightforward plan for creating the ideal Snowboy. The illustration illustrates how tall the two snowballs must be in comparison to the height of a playable villager in New Horizons. The basic Snowboy snowball should extend somewhat past the nose of any playable character, while the head should extend slightly below their ear. The head’s snowball looks to be approximately three-fourths the size of the body, resulting in a Snowboy who towers over the majority of the island population.
The post started a discussion in the comments section on further approaches to Snowboy builds. One user explained that they time how long it takes to roll the body and then the head. “I employ the counting technique. Count to seventeen with the first ball and twelve with the second.” Another user described their own technique, which is not dependent on “eyeballing or guesstimating.” They stated, “My strategy is to locate a strip of land large enough to lay a 2×10 block off the path. Place both snowballs at their maximum size on each end, roll one down to the opposite side, and you’ll have ideal Snowboys.”
Although the quest for the perfect Snowboy appears to be endless (especially with so many varied tactics delivering positive outcomes), players who simply want to screw around without any structure can still make admirable Snowboys. For one thing, Snowboys are forthright in their assessment of players’ work. However, some ACNH players actually like constructing exaggerated Snowboys as well – the choice is ultimately up to the player and their idea for their icy island.
