Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be available on PC via the Epic Games Store on December 16th, Square Enix announced at The Game Awards 2021. Intergrade’s 2021 adaptation of FF7 Remake for the PS5 contained new DLC including Yuffie from the FF7 remake, making it one of the largest PS4 exclusives of 2020.
FF7 Remake was first announced at Sony’s E3 2015 conference, where it was stated that fans would be able to play it on the PS4 first. This made it clear from the start that it wouldn’t be a PlayStation-only game, as was the case with the original. For at least a year, according to a sticker on the game’s box, it will only be available on the PlayStation 4. After a year, neither the PS4 nor the PC versions of Final Fantasy 7 Remake were released. The Intergrade version was rumoured to be a way for Sony to keep its exclusivity.
For the first time in the series’ history, Cloud Strife’s new adventure will no longer be available on PlayStation. FF7 Remake Intergrade will be released exclusively on the Epic Games Store on December 16, according to the announcement made at the Game Awards 2021. It has since been released to the Square Enix channel on YouTube, where it shows off the high-definition RPG action that gamers have come to expect from Intergrade.
Since its original release, Intergrade has included a new version of FF7 Remake that features a Photo Mode, a variety of graphic styles, and improved loading times. A fresh new DLC chapter featuring Yuffie from Final Fantasy 7 takes place during the events of Final Fantasy 7 Remake in Intergrade. As a prelude to FF7 Remake 2, the Yuffie chapter concludes on a massive cliffhanger that alters the direction of the original plot.
Inevitably, Final Fantasy 7 Remake would be removed from the PlayStation lineup. This move by Epic isn’t all that shocking, given that the studio was able to keep Kingdom Hearts on PC exclusive for a long time. Since Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade was a great hit on PlayStation platforms and is a remake of one of the most legendary JRPGs of all time, there is value in keeping it on a single platform. This must have been an expensive decision. This is what Sony must have thought as well, because they pushed for nearly a year to have the game as an exclusive for their system Is FF7 Remake Intergrade for Xbox, or Nintendo Switch, via a cloud-based version the next step?
