Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course DLC will finally be released in the summer of 2022, thanks to an announcement from Studio MDHR. After launching on PC and Xbox One in 2017, the 1930s animation-inspired run-and-gun game made its way to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, where it will be available in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
To the joy of many players, Studio MDHR announced DLC for Cuphead in 2018 for PC and Xbox One, promising to further enhance the Cuphead experience with an all-new character named Ms Chalice, among other things. It was planned to be released in 2019 and would include new bosses, extra weaponry, and other enhancements. Unfortunately, the year 2019 came and passed without The Delicious Last Course being available for purchase online. Cuphead’s post-launch DLC was postponed until 2020, however that year also came and went without any new Cuphead content being made available. The Delicious Last Course has also been given a release date of 2021, which corresponds to the pattern. However, according to a new teaser released in conjunction with The Game Awards, no such launch is in the works.
A little over halfway into The Game Awards 2021, and immediately following a fantastic song and dance number, Cuphead took the stage and stole the show. And, indeed, the subject of debate was The Delectable Last Course. Studio MDHR dazzled audiences with amazing visuals and gameplay in a trailer that lasted nearly two minutes. The footage concluded with information that fans have been waiting for a long time – a release date. Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course will be released on all platforms on June 30, 2022, marking the ultimate release date.
With just a glance, it appears as though the difficult run-and-gun action title will not be made any simpler, and it should not be made any easier. Cuphead’s appeal is derived in part from its punishing difficulty, and Studio MDHR has made it clear that it will not be relenting in this regard. Wishing everyone the best of luck in bringing The Delicious Last Course to the public as planned next summer.
As the game’s titular character and his brother Mughead, they must travel a cartoon world filled with boss battles in order to pay off a debt owed to the game’s main enemy, the Devil, in order to progress. Players can take on the experience on their own, but a cooperative option offers a similarly difficult task for those who want to have a co-op buddy at their side during the encounter. And don’t worry if you’re not interested in Cuphead as an interactive adventure game; there are other options available. Studio MDHR and King Features Syndicate are currently developing an animated Cuphead series for Netflix in collaboration with the company.
